This Privacy Policy explains how SmartRolePath ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our AI-powered career intelligence platform at smartrolepath.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
When you create an account or sign in via Google OAuth, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture provided by Google.
To deliver your career analysis, we collect information you provide in our intake form: current job title, years of experience, educational background, skills, interests, location, and target income goals.
If you use CareerSite's resume scan to pre-fill your profile, we read the file to extract your experience, skills, and education, then delete the uploaded file, usually within seconds and always within one hour. We do not retain a copy of the original resume file. Only the structured details you review and choose to keep are saved to your CareerSite.
We collect standard web analytics including pages visited, features used, browser type, device type, and IP address to understand how our service is used and to improve it.
If you purchase a Pro plan, payment is processed by Stripe. SmartRolePath does not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details, only a transaction reference and your plan status.
Your career profile data is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI models to generate personalized career path recommendations, roadmaps, and course suggestions. This is the core purpose for which you provided the data.
We use your email to send account confirmations, analysis results, and service-related communications. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
Aggregated and anonymized data may be used to improve our AI prompts, career path accuracy, and overall product quality. Individual profiles are not shared for this purpose.
Usage data and account information are used to detect abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain the security of the platform.
We use Google OAuth for authentication. When you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email, and profile picture with us under their Privacy Policy. We do not receive your Google password.
Career profile data you submit is processed by Anthropic's API to generate your analysis. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their API usage policies. We do not share your name or email with Anthropic, only the career data needed for analysis.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. Your payment information is submitted directly to Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. SmartRolePath receives only payment confirmation and subscription status.
Our service is hosted on cloud infrastructure. Your data is stored and processed within servers located in the United States.
We retain your account and career profile data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
Career analyses you have run are stored in your account history so you can review them at any time. This data is deleted when your account is deleted.
If you publish a CareerSite, its content (profile details, sections, and photos) is retained until you delete it yourself from the editor or request account deletion. Deleting your CareerSite removes it from public view immediately and permanently deletes its content, including uploaded photos.
Transaction records are retained for seven (7) years as required by applicable financial regulations, even after account deletion.
To request deletion of your personal data, email us at info@smartrolepath.com with the subject line 'Data Deletion Request'. We will process your request within 30 days.
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption in transit and encrypted storage at rest to protect your data. Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
While we take data security seriously, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us at info@smartrolepath.com.
You may update most of your profile information directly within the app. For other corrections, contact us.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time, subject to our retention obligations described above.
You may opt out of non-essential communications by contacting us. Note that service-related emails (e.g., purchase confirmations) cannot be opted out of.
SmartRolePath is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a prominent notice in the application. Your continued use of SmartRolePath after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
