SmartRolePath applies a fixed, documented weighted formula, not another AI call, to five SmartRolePath assessment factors to produce each path's Personal Match score: market demand (30%), income potential (25%), skill fit (20%), transition speed (15%), and automation safety (10%). Paths are then listed in Overall Recommendation order. Personal Match is the primary factor; for eligible U.S. occupations a limited amount of verified BLS/O*NET labor-market evidence may refine the order of closely matched careers. Non-U.S. analyses receive no U.S. labor-market ranking adjustment, approximate or ambiguous occupation matches do not influence the order, and analyses generated before this feature was enabled keep their original ordering.
Separately from the AI-generated analysis, Pro subscribers can search live job listings for a specific target role through JSearch, Adzuna, Remotive, and USAJobs, capped at up to 12 results per search. This is real, on-demand external data, but it is not used to generate the career-path recommendations, salary estimates, or scores.
For supported U.S. analyses, SmartRolePath shows official local wage and employment figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS program (May 2025 Metropolitan and Nonmetropolitan Area estimates). The metropolitan area is resolved deterministically from the city and state stored with the analysis using the U.S. Census Bureau's official principal-cities list; when a city cannot be matched confidently, state and then national figures are shown instead, clearly labelled. Local employment is estimated occupational employment, not job openings. Location quotient measures employment concentration, not demand or growth. Local market data is informational and does not change recommendation ranking. Non-U.S. analyses do not receive U.S. data labelled as local evidence.
